Once you are done admiring your new friends, you will want to soak them in clean, room temperature water for about 20-30 minutes. This will hydrate them after their long journey to their new home! Shade gently and let them dry completely before placing them into terrariums or other enclosed containers. Soak your air plants once a week and they should thrive. Filtered or rain water is best, but please avoid distilled water as the nutrients have been removed.

Do not put your air plants in soil or let them sit in water for extended periods. They get their water and nutrients through their leaves, not their roots. Provide bright, but indirect light.

The life cycle of air plants includes growth, bloom, and reproduction. Each plant will bloom during its life cycle. During or after their bloom cycle air plants reproduce by growing "pups" from their base. Each plant will produce 2-8 pups. The pups can be allowed to continue growing into a large clump that will create a much larger specimen over time. Alternatively, when the pups reach 1/3 to 1/2 the size of the parent plant they can be easily separated and grown to maturity on their own. With patience and nurturing, you will have dozens of beautiful air plants to enjoy!
