Welcome to Paper Plant Co

Welcome to Paper Plant Co

Greetings from Los Angeles, Chinatown popping up inside P.R.D
Hello! My name is Friedia, the owner of Paper Plant Co. Some of you might remember me as the co-owner of Paper Please. After a few years of exciting growth I wanted to better reflect who we are and what we have to offer. Starting February 1st of this year we launched the new name and logo of my dog Vincent  (pom x dachshund mix) , shop mascot. And Paper Plant Co was born!
Stationery is the basis for all things creative and plants not only enhance the overall appearance of your space but they also boost moods, increase creativity, reduces stress. They make us feel good, which is what a good notebook can make you feel as well.
I am super excited I get to now share my love for stationery and plants under one roof. Working with stationery is something I have dreamed about since living in Tokyo for 12 years. Whether it's in a conbini or a large department, Japan always had stationery anywhere you go. Los Angeles needed some more paper good shops and I hope to be the one to bring unique goodies from Asia and Europe.
My love for plants are from my Brazilian mom. We will go on walks and she will still grab flowers, seeds to plant in the yard or propagate. She has done this ever since I can remember. She might be more excited I sell plants than I am!

Currently we are inside our friends restaurant P.R.D. Johnny has been so generous in letting us pop-up up while we renovate our permanent space. Hopefully we will be able to move into our original space in the beginning of May. It is such an exciting time! Cannot wait to show everyone what the new space will look like.

In the meantime, we thought it would be fun to start a blog and document these moments here for everyone. With the world coming back to normal(ish) we forget to stop and journal about the little things that happen in our life. I, myself hope to journal more once the build out is done and tax season is over lol How is it already April 4th???

During the Holidays last year I made my way over to the east coast to visit my mom. In one of the beautiful plant shops I visited they had just placed these chinese takeout planters out and I had to have one! When I came back to LA I was on a mission to find a place to purchase from. Luckily we did! A week after bringing them into the shop they sold out, which is super exciting for any shop! I just placed a re-order and hope to receive them sometime next week🤞🏼 This time we will have more sizes and colors!! Cannot wait!

I really hope you enjoy these posts. Our employee's Michelle and Claire will also be posting here very soon~! We want to keep posting as a monthly thing.

I am so grateful that we are still here, still in Chinatown and thankful for the love and support from the community. It has been a crazy two years. Cannot wait to see what's to come next! you are the best~~~

Will see you at the shop! Everyday 9AM-4PM

P.S you will often catch me taking a selfie using one of the reflective windows in beautiful Chinatown. Once you see one, even YOU won't be able to resist! LOL
