2026 Hobonichi English Weeks / Makoto Matsubayashi: Dot《January Start | English》

The Weeks is a slim, long wallet-sized planner that is light and portable. It has a weekly horizontal layout with the weekly pages on the left and grid memo pages on the right. Each weekly spread also contains the characteristic “Daily Quote” on the bottom of the page. The book holds plenty of graph-ruled memo pages for note-taking at the end of the book. There are a variety of cover designs available to choose from.

This Weeks features a drawing by printmaker and artist Makoto Matsubayashi, who is based in Kochi Prefecture.

Painted with free-flowing brushstrokes, white dots stand out boldly against a black background. Though the design is refreshingly simple, with no extra embellishment, the subtle wavering and fading of the hand-drawn lines bring a gentle warmth to the overall look.
